Pray for Justice Clarence Thomas

2022-03-21 Pray for Clarence Thomas
Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas was hospitalized Friday evening, March 18, with flu-like symptoms.  Pray earnestly for him that he will fully recover, as it is now being expected.  He does not have the CCP (Chinese Communist Party) virus, and is recovering.

The horror of our current Absent-Mind-in-Chief appointing TWO Supreme Court Justices would revert the Court back to the dark ages of the last half-century when leftists used the Court to push agendas they could not accomplish at the voting booths.

But for that matter, we should be praying for president Biden, “vice” president Harris, Chuck Schumer, Nancy Pelosi, Mitch McConnell and Kevin McCarthy, along with all our justices and community leaders.
First of all, then, I urge that supplications, prayers, intercessions, and thanksgivings be made for all people, for kings and all who are in high positions, that we may lead a peaceful and quiet life, godly and dignified in every way.1 Timothy 2:1-2

Someone, please, remind me that no government can be established unless Yahweh, the Creator and Lord of all the earth, allows it.  Sometimes it is hard to see His Hand, but when such is the case, I will trust His Heart.  As a perceptive friend often says, “You are wise and will know how to apply.” 😉

  1. I’ve always had great respect for Judge Thomas. When he was nominated he was attacked viciously. I was wondering how he could triumph over what he was up against and then I heard the speech he gave. Wow. He’s a very impressive man. He shut every single naysayer up. I will definitely pray for him and our other leaders too, but the focus will be for those going down the wrong path to see the light and for Judge Thomas to regain his strength and health. (Thank you for reminding me to pray for all our leaders. It’s hard to pray for those who have evil in their hearts, but God wants all to be saved and come to the knowledge of the truth!)

  2. The US economic system operates most efficiently when a healthy balance between right and left sides of the spectrum serves both ends of the spectrum. Tyranny occurs when either side takes full rein to meet its political aims. Where is the fairness in a system that does not tax the individuals who have profited the most by politicians who are bought by PACs. How does race decide the human rights of one over the other.
Republicans openly limit access by blacks to the polls by any means possible, this has assured that blacks are denied representation in the legislature. Court justices should also be chosen to assure that equal opportunity under the law is available to all and each. Packing SCOTUS by either side makes the entire political economy lean to one side or the other. Where is the balance when a majority of justices are Catholic, particularly when the country is so heavily divided on an issue as viscerally divisive as abortion?

    1. Hi, Bill. I disagree that the voter integrity bills being passed in various states deny anyone representation in the legislature. The idea that people would be able to vote by mail or without identifying themselves never entered the founders’ minds. Not one of the laws I have read limits access at all.
I agree ‘packing’ the Supreme Court by any political view is dangerous to our liberty. The problem I see is that the left has continued to dominate the Court since Earl Warren joined, and has “enacted laws” by judicial fiat rather than winning at the ballot box.
As for balance on the court, I also agree for a need here. Southern Baptists are the largest Christian denomination, yet are unrepresented. (For the record, I am neither Southern Baptist nor Roman Catholic.) However, the left only becomes concerned about the court “leaning” to one side when it is the leftist viewpoint that is in decline. And then they proceed to “Bork” any nominee who does not fit their litmus test.
Blacks have been on the court for many years. We have a diverse Court as it is, and it will become unbalanced by a declaration by Biden to select a “black woman” before even considering anyone’s qualifications. The result, according to Ben Carson, an African-American, is that she will be perceived as being granted the job without being qualified, even if she IS.
      Thanx for your thoughtful comments.

      1. Thank you for the considered response, Sir.
Voting absentee allows people without access to transportation to cast the ballots intended to elect representatives, the 2020 vote demonstrated this sharply and fraud did not occur, unless you treat losing in the only way that a politician like Trump — by concocting stories that are complete fantasy.
The Republicans are doing everything possible to thwart every election everywhere, they feel no compunction at doing so.
Mitch McConnell stonewalled the hearings for Merrick Garland for 11 months, he is also famous for sitting on hundred of bill received from Congress and only letting the ones he approves of to go up for vote. The Supreme Court under Earl Warren was an exceptionally rare state, Eisenhower referred his nomination as the most costly era of his Presidency, by today’s standards Eisenhower would be considered a liberal. He was a very even-minded man, I remember his final four years in office and laud his final address that warned of the present Military-Industrial Complex, getting it right at every bullet point.
Clarence Thomas is certainly black, but you will not find many blacks believing that he represents them at the last moment of truth that occurs with a Supreme Court judgement.
Trump’s THREE nominations are all from a list developed by the Federalist Society, an organization that rubber stamps extremely conservative interests.
We live in a society that denies blacks access to the most fundamentally inherent rights. They have suffered in this country since slavery started in 1619. I cannot stand by and allow fundamental racism to continue without recompense. The Democratic Party looks much more like our population than the Republican Party. We live in a diverse country that should be represented for each and every marginalized citizen. The problems are many: extrajudicial executions by the police is undeniable, the prison system is one of the most unequal in the first world, opportunities available to whites such as ourselves is made nearly impossible for blacks.

    1. Sue, I regret that you were offended by my nick-name for Biden, but you signed up for the blog and I simply received notice that you were following.
I do not know if there is any mechanism for me to remove someone? Can you simply unsubscribe?
If it is any consolation, I have equally an insulting nickname for our former president, the Egomaniac-In-Chief. 😏
My disrespect for politicians is bipartisan, but I still pray FOR all of the pols running the country.
That is, I do not pray against them, but that Father will give them wisdom to make wise decisions on our behalf.
❤️& daily 🙏 for you and Dave, c.a.

  4. Prayers for Justice Thomas, yes. Prayers for leaders, even those we don’t like, yes. Remembering that it is God who raises up nations, and tears down nations according to His purposes, that’s tricky. Trusting that God, in His wisdom, is working out ALL things for His glory and our benefit, that’s necessary for people of faith. Jesus said, “In this world you will have trouble; take heart, I have overcome the world.”

  5. Lord we are lifting Judge Thomas to Your throne room and laying him at your feet. Our outward freedom to glorify You is so fragile with this unlawful government. We know you have ordained every single day we are placed here in this dimension. On behalf of Your people, we are asking for you to extend Judge Thomas’ life like the sun suspended for Joshua, so that in our awakening stages, our battle to rise up in revival, restoration, and reformation in this land is not lost but won. We want to once again be the city on the hill, bringing Your light and Your glory to others, and continue to be a protector of Israel. We pray, make this path straight. Fill Judge Thomas’ lungs with Your breath. May every cell in his body rise up in praise. May he be strengthened to continue this fight with us. Lord it is in Your mighty name we ask these things. Amen
